regarding Track's ramp section

For the 30° incline ramp section, I understand it's meant to launch the RC car into the air. Since I'm using direct wheel drive, landing on a hard surface could exert force on the motors lateral to their axis, which they aren't intended for.

Would it be possible to add some padding at the landing area ? Also, any recommended ramp length ?

You can add padding to soften the fall.
Also don't make the ramp longer than 2x-3x of your car's length, that way you wouldn't have to add padding considering the drop will be of very low height.
