Hello,

I’m currently working with the ESP8266 module and am facing an issue where it is not being detected as a COM port on my computer. Despite trying several troubleshooting steps, the problem remains unresolved.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

1) Different USB Cables: I’ve tested with multiple USB cables to ensure that the cable is not the issue.
2) Different PCs: The ESP8266 has been tested on different computers to rule out PC-specific problems.
3) Driver Installation: I have installed the latest drivers for the ESP8266, but the module is still not detected.
4) Power Supply: Ensured that the ESP8266 is receiving adequate power and that the power source is stable.

Despite these efforts, the ESP8266 module does not appear in the Device Manager as a COM port, which is preventing me from proceeding with my development work.

If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has suggestions for further troubleshooting, your input would be greatly appreciated.

CH340G Driver — Please make sure the CH340G driver is properly installed. You can download and install it from —- https://www.arduined.eu/tag/ch340/

Additional Tips:

Look for damage: Examine the module and cable.

(And can you please tell me which os are you using ?)

Use Arduino IDE: It can recognise the module.
:!: I preffer you ARDUINO IDE 1.18V

ArduinoDroid (Mobile app to program and communicate with ESP8266)

This way you should be able to solve the issue and find your ESP8266 module as COM port.
