Hello,

What are the root causes of arming issues while using the APM 2.8 Flight controller? I would greatly appreciate if you have any suggestions for resolving it.

Arming issues with the APM 2.8 flight controller can stem from various sources, including incorrect ESC calibration, misconfigured radio channels, or problems with the flight mode settings.
To resolve these, ensure proper ESC calibration, verify radio channel assignments, and double-check flight mode settings in Mission Planner.
1. If your ESCs aren't properly calibrated, the APM might not recognize the correct throttle range, leading to arming problems or erratic motor behavior. You have to check the calibration procedure of your particular ESC. Ensure the throttle stick in your transmitter is calibrated to the full range of 0-100%. Try to increase the MOT_PWM_MIN parameter in Mission Planner to a higher value if the motors are not spinning at all.
2. If the arming or disarming function is not correctly mapped to a specific radio channel, the APM might not respond to the arming command.
Go to "Config -> Full Parameter List" in Mission Planner and find the relevant channel number. Change the value of the channel to 153 to set up channel 5 as the arming/disarming channel.
3. The APM might be stuck in a mode that prevents arming, such as "Loiter" or "Stabilized."
In Mission Planner, ensure the flight mode is set to "Stabilized" or "Acro" as per your application needs. Use the flight mode switch on your transmitter to switch to the desired mode.
4. Outdated or corrupted firmware can cause unexpected behavior.
Ensure you are using the latest stable version of ArduPilot firmware for your APM 2.8. If you suspect firmware corruption, try reinstalling the firmware.

Reviewing flight logs in Mission Planner on a regular basis will help you spot possible issues. There are so many videos available to help you to learn and to troubleshoot such issues. Here are a few links from which I have learned:
