Seeking Advice on Building Transmitter and Receiver for Custom Drone Project

I'm planning to build both a transmitter and receiver for a drone that I'm also constructing from scratch. Since I don't have extensive knowledge in this area, could you help me with some suggestions for components and other aspects of the project? If you have experience with this type of project, I'd love to hear about the components and connections you used.
