I’m currently developing an autonomous waste sorting robot that uses sensors and AI to sort trash into recyclables, compost, and landfill categories, all based on physical properties such as weight, color, and material type. The idea is to make waste sorting more efficient and accessible for households, improving recycling rates and minimizing waste.

Key components for the robot:

Arduino Mega or Uno
Weight sensors for material detection
Color sensors or cameras for material identification
Servo motors for sorting action
IoT connectivity to track waste data
The robot would not only sort waste but could potentially learn from previous sorting decisions and improve over time. Could this project help improve recycling efforts in the long run? I’d love to get insights from anyone who’s worked on similar robots or ideas to make this system more effective!
